Fall-Apart Tender Shredded Beef: A Step-by-Step Guide to Cooking with Chuck Roast

Transform Chuck Roast into Flavorful Shredded Beef with this Easy Recipe

 

Ingredients:

2-3 lb chuck roast, boneless

2-3 tbsp sea salt

1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper

1/2 small yellow onion, sliced

 

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a roasting pan add chuck roast generously sprinkle sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper all over each side.
  2. Cover and put in the oven for 1 hour per pound. If you have a 2 pound chuck roast it will take 2 hours, etc.
  3. Remove roast from oven, the meat should be able to shredded very easily at this point. If not, add back into the oven for an additional 20 minutes. Once meat is tender and easily pulling apart begin to shred the beef with a fork.
  4. Mix all the shredded beef with the rendered fat and add onions. This will give it a nice crisp. Raise the heat of the oven to 400 degrees F. Place the roast back in the oven uncovered for 25 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of crispiness.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving as tacos or with rice, etc.
